SA国际传媒 Offers Epiphany Celebration

SA国际传媒 will hold its annual Epiphany Celebration on Sunday, Jan.13, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. in The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus. Participating in the celebration will be several vocal and instrumental groups from the SA国际传媒 community, including the SA国际传媒 Chorus, Pro Musica Sacra and Brass Choir. The celebration will include a musical review of Advent and Christmas and a service of evening prayer.

The Epiphany Celebration will be the premier of a new setting of 鈥淯nto Us A Son Is Born鈥 by Seminary Chorus director, Rev. Henry V. Gerike. Included in the musical review of Advent and Christmas are settings of 鈥淭oo Much Light for Midnight,鈥 a new carol by Alfred Fedak; 鈥淥 Holy Child鈥 by Michael Cox; 鈥淢ary Was Visited鈥 by Franz Biebl; and 鈥淕entle Stranger鈥 by Henry Gerike.

Evening prayer will focus on the Epiphany of our Lord with Egil Hovland鈥檚 鈥淪tay with Us鈥; Donald Busarow鈥檚 setting for choir and congregation, 鈥淥 Morning Star, How Fair and Bright鈥; Mark Sedio鈥檚 new tune and setting for 鈥淎ngels from the Realms of Glory鈥; and John Gardner鈥檚 鈥淭omorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day.鈥

At a reception following the Epiphany Celebration, SA国际传媒 Chorus will officially release and premier its 11th recording, 鈥淪afe in God鈥檚 Faithfulness.鈥 The CD will premier two works written especially for the Chorus: 鈥淪hine in Our Hearts鈥 by Jonathan Kohrs, music professor at Concordia University Chicago, and 鈥淣o Saint on Earth Lives Life Alone鈥 by John Eggert, music professor at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minn.

Special recognition will be given to pastors and church musicians from Lutheran churches in the St. Louis area. SA国际传媒 desires to express its appreciation for their work of proclaiming God鈥檚 Word and leading God鈥檚 people in worship and song.
