400 People Attend SA国际传媒's Theological Symposium

鈥淪cience and Theology: New Questions, New Conversations鈥 was the title of the 20th Annual Theological Symposium, held Sept. 22-23 on the campus of SA国际传媒. More than 400 pastors, students, faculty, and laypeople were in attendance, including seven local high school students. The Day of Exegetical Reflection, held the day before the Symposium, had 118 participants.

This year鈥檚 Symposium took an in-depth look at the connections between science and theology. The primary plenary speakers were scientists from diverse backgrounds: Dr. Daniel Botkin, professor emeritus at the University of California, Santa Barbara; Dr. Mario Beauregard, professor of neurobiology at the University of Montreal; and Dr. Benjamin Schumacher, physics professor at Kenyon College in Ohio. Each scientist鈥檚 plenary was followed by a response from one of SA国际传媒鈥檚 faculty exploring the theological implications of the presentations.

Other sectional speakers included Dr. Del Ratzsch, professor of philosophy and science at Calvin College; Dr. Angus Menuge, professor of philosophy and science at Concordia University Wisconsin; and Dr. Robert Weise, SA国际传媒 professor and The Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis Chair in Pastoral Ministry and the Life Sciences.

The 2010 Theological Symposium is scheduled for September 21-22. For more information, call Continuing Education at 314-505-7486.
