SA国际传媒 Releases First Partner Issue of Concordia Journal With LWR

For the inaugural partnership issue in its long history, Concordia Journal has partnered with Lutheran World Relief (LWR) to release the Winter 2011 issue of Concordia Journal.

It marks the one-year anniversary of the Haiti earthquake by focusing on a theology of suffering and a witness to God鈥檚 presence in the midst of catastrophe.

鈥淒isasters, like the Haiti earthquake, are inevitable,鈥 commented John Nunes, president/CEO of Lutheran World Relief. 鈥淢aking sense of the suffering is next to impossible. Mysteriously, God is up to something good even in our pain. Which is why Lutheran World Relief has partnered with Concordia Journal to tackle these difficult considerations.鈥

The issue includes articles by John Nunes and Leopoldo S谩nchez, director of the Center for Hispanic Studies at SA国际传媒. It also includes an editorial roundtable discussing 鈥渨here is God in suffering鈥 with Jon Diefenthaler (LCMS Southeastern District President), Philip Krey (president of the Lutheran School of Theology at Philadelphia), Albert Collver (director of church relations for the LCMS president), and Jane Fryar (writer and professor emeritus at Concordia University Nebraska).

鈥淐aught up in day-to-day busyness we may not see it, but people with global eyes, people in mercy ministries, see how nearly everything in church and society is changing,鈥 commented Dale A. Meyer, president of SA国际传媒. 鈥淲e鈥檙e glad to partner with Lutheran World Relief to open our vision for what is and what can be in this new world.鈥
