[1] President Dr. Dale A. Meyer [2] is taking the voices from the front lines of ministry to the air waves of KFUO in a new weekly program called [3] The program will air at 2 p.m. Thursdays (CT) on KFUO AM 850 or [4] beginning in September.
In addition to the radio program, the [5] will feature videos of the interviews as well as the accompanying audio segments, both of which can be downloaded [3].
鈥淲ord and Work鈥 provides a behind-the-scenes look at ministry where everyday life and God鈥檚 Word meet. Each episode features Meyer interviewing a different guest 鈥 including pastors, faculty members, authors, students, missionaries, lay people and church officials.
鈥淭o inform and stimulate, that鈥檚 what I hope 鈥榃ord and Work: An Intersection鈥 will do,鈥 Meyer said. 鈥淭he more informed we are about what鈥檚 really going on in the church, the more we鈥檒l be equipped to join with others in taking the Word of Christ into work and daily life. The [5] featured Dr. Charles Arand [6], the Seminary鈥檚 Eugene E. and Nell S. Fincke Graduate Professor of Theology, and Dean of Theological Research and Publication. The two men discussed the 2017 edition of [7] from Concordia Publishing House (CPH). Arand served as a drafter on The Lutheran Church鈥擬issouri Synod committee responsible for revising the Explanation.
This week鈥檚 program features Dr. Joel Biermann [8], the Waldemar A. and June Schuette Professor of Systematic Theology,聽discussing his book, [9], and the relationship of church and world in light of Luther鈥檚 teachings. Next week鈥檚 program features Lutheran Church鈥擬issouri Synod (LCMS) Iowa District East President Dr. Brian Saunders discussing the role of LCMS districts in the hierarchy of the church and the important interface with congregations and their communities.
