鈥淎rt allows us to access, understand, internalize and experience theology in a more fully human way. By engaging our senses and making physical representations of both the horror and the beauty of our condition and redemption, artists offer us an experience that can be rational聽补苍诲听intuitive, or even mysteriously beyond cognition, echoing the profundity of the incarnation,鈥 said聽Sarah Bernhardt, director of the Intersect Arts Center, who curated the exhibition as part of the Seminary鈥檚 Theological Symposium held Sept.聽18-19.

鈥淭he visual arts have been a significant part of the Christian tradition throughout time and I鈥檓 grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Seminary to explore the visual manifestation of our theology at this moment in history.鈥

The artwork included in the exhibit is from artists who responded to the symposium theme 鈥淭he Cross Alone is Our Theology!鈥

The pieces include oil and acrylic on canvas, digital collage, charcoal on watercolor paper, scratchboard, tempera on wood, stainless steel, digital photography, earthenware, hand dyed and woven cotton and recycled products.

Many of the pieces are available for purchase.

Those attending the exhibition also will experience the newly renovated library, which was dedicated in August after a yearlong $6 million transformation that was part of the聽Generations Campaign [1].
