The After Chapel Concert Series debuted Oct. 2 in the chapel balcony with an organ recital by our very own Drs. Jim Marriott and David Maxwell. Maxwell played 鈥淟itanies鈥� by Jehan Alain and Felix Mendelssohn鈥檚 鈥淎ndante Tranquillo鈥� from Sonata III. Marriott played three variations of 鈥淟ord, Thee I Love.鈥� In the second concert of the series, Rev. Yaroslav Bochenko, pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria, Russia, held a piano recital Oct. 23. Speaking to the audience using a translator, Bochenko said, 鈥淵ou can hear how music can be prayer.鈥� After the concert, students were invited to talk with Bochenko and view displays about the history of the Lutheran church in Russia. The concert series aims to enrich the musical life of the Seminary community.
