贵颈惫别听 [1]聽students recently celebrated vicarage assignments and call placements to serve congregations of聽 [1]. The students were recognized in chapel Friday.
One Master of Divinity Student, Jacob Schultz, received his first call to Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Mo., in the LCMS Missouri District.聽
鈥淲henever a student receives an assignment as a vicar or a call into the ministry, the Seminary community rejoices along with the student, his family and friends,鈥 said Dr. Glenn Nielsen, director of Placement and director of Vicarage and Deaconess Internships. 鈥淵ears of study and formative experiences have brought Jacob to this day of celebration.鈥
One Residential Alternate Route [2] (RAR) student,聽LeRoy Raynor, received a vicarage assignment to Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Ontario, Ore., in the LCMS Northwest District.
Three Center for Hispanic Studies [3] (CHS) students received vicarage assignments in Houston, Texas, in the LCMS Texas District: Jos茅 Argueta to Iglesia Cristiana Emanuel, Baudilio Herrera to Iglesia Gloria Dei and Jes煤s Santos to Centro Familiar Cristiano 鈥 Spring Branch.
鈥淟eRoy begins his full-time practical experience that may lead to a call at this congregation,鈥 Nielsen said. 鈥淭he three students in the Center for Hispanic Studies continue their ministry in context, but are now officially recognized as vicars by the Seminary and the LCMS. Today is indeed a joyous day.鈥
The Seminary celebrates assignment services throughout the year for students enrolled in special programs such as CHS,聽RAR聽and others. The Seminary鈥檚 primary Call Day is held in the spring when students receive their first calls to ministry as well as assignments for vicarage and deaconess internships. Call Day is set for May 1, 2019.
