Dr. Leopoldo A. S谩nchez [1], the Werner R. H. and Elizabeth R. Krause Professor of Hispanic Ministries, SA国际传媒, St. Louis, recently published [2] with InterVarsity Press.
In his new book, S谩nchez carefully crafts a Spirit Christology, which considers the role of God’s Spirit in the life and mission of Jesus and leads to five models of sanctification that can help Christians discern how the Spirit is at work in our lives.
“Some Christians, including Lutherans, believe the Holy Spirit is so mysterious there is little one could say concretely about His work of sanctification in our lives,” said S谩nchez. “I wrote this book to dispel this pious but dangerous myth by showing how the Scriptures, early church fathers, Martin Luther and contemporary theologians offer vivid pictures of what life in the Spirit, or sanctification, looks like.”
This work expands on S谩nchez’s previous dissertation work in the field of Spirit Christology and asks how the theology of sanctification it yields can address the deep spiritual yearnings and hopes of North American neighbors, including millennials and Hispanics.
