How do the Scriptures address issues of race and how do those biblical details point us to Christ? This is the focus of聽SA国际传媒鈥檚聽Pre-Lenten Workshop 鈥Lent for All Nations [1]鈥澛爁or pastors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.
The annual Pre-Lenten Workshop is held each year to help pastors develop their worship resources for Lent. This year, the one-day workshop will be hosted by聽Dr. Benjamin Haupt [2], associate provost and assistant professor of Practical Theology at SA国际传媒.
鈥淚mmigration, race and ethnicity are topics that come up often in the news and among cultural commentators, but sometimes these topics lead to nerves and tied tongues,鈥 Haupt said. 鈥淭he Scriptures are clear that the love of God and the forgiveness of sins in Jesus鈥 name are for all people, but the Scriptures also name particular nationalities and ethnicities. Far from throwaway details, these brief descriptors are important for understanding the Gospel message and its implications for today鈥檚 world.鈥
The Pre-Lenten Workshop will be held in the Presidents Room on SA国际传媒鈥檚 campus. [3] is $50 and includes lunch. The deadline for registration is Jan. 17.
