Kolb speaks in Transylvania

Emeritus Professor of Systematic Theology Dr. Robert Kolb was one of 33 lecturers at a conference on the history of the Lutheran church in Siebenb眉rgen (Transylvania) Oct. 31鈥揘ov. 4, held at the Theological Academy (Seminary) of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Siebenb眉rgen. Speakers from Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany and the United States offered insights into the Reformation in the area and the experience of Siebenb眉rgen Lutherans in the 20th and early 21st centuries.

The conference observed the 70th anniversary of the reorganization of Protestant theological education in Romania and the 500th anniversary of the first impact of the Wittenberg Reformation in Transylvania. Kolb鈥檚 lecture analyzed three confessions about the Lord鈥檚 Supper from 1557, 1561 and 1572 that were composed and subscribed by Lutheran pastors, many of who studied with Martin Luther and Philip Melanchthon in Wittenberg, Germany.
