Summer carillon concerts set for Tuesdays in June

This summer, the 2020-21 SA国际传媒 Concert Series [1] continues with the annual Summer Carillon Concerts, held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in June. These outdoor performances are free and open to the public and appeal to music lovers of all ages.

鈥淲e are so pleased to be able to offer these concert events as a gift to the St. Louis community,鈥� said Dr. James Marriott [2], the Kreft Chair for Music Arts and director of Music Arts at SA国际传媒, St. Louis. 鈥淥ur excellent carillonneurs bring such artistry to each performance, demonstrating the capabilities of this unique instrument. Additionally, the campus of SA国际传媒 is such a serene summer venue for these concerts.聽What a great way to spend a Tuesday evening in June!鈥�

The carillon at SA国际传媒 is one of only 170 such instruments in North America. The 49 bells have been played atop the 120-foot Luther Tower since 1971, and are dedicated to all pastors who have served The Lutheran Church鈥擬issouri Synod.

Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics and to enjoy the unique concerts in a beautiful setting 鈥� from the Main Quadrangle or on the Seminary grounds near Luther Statue, or from Concordia Park off DeMun Avenue. In the event of rain, guests may gather under the archways and tower on campus.
