In a new SA国际传媒 Lay Bible Institute [1] on the Book of Psalms, workshop participants will consider how the psalter鈥檚 arrangement contributes to the Psalms鈥� rich picture of Christ. 鈥淭he Book of Psalms and the Christ,鈥� set for Aug. 3 and led by Associate Professor of Exegetical Theology Dr. Adam Hensley [2], will dig into the Psalms and will explore the ways Christ speaks as He identifies with sinners.
鈥淎s Christians we know that the Psalms, like all the Old Testament, are about Christ,鈥� Hensley said, 鈥渁nd that in them we also hear His voice speaking, from its deepest laments to its highest thanksgivings and praises. So come, join us as we explore more deeply how this wonderful book 鈥� this 鈥渕ini-Bible鈥� as Luther called it 鈥� is shaped around the long-expected Messiah, Jesus Christ the Son of God, who came to redeem sinners and who leads us in prayer, praise and thanksgiving to the God our Father.鈥�
Open to anyone interested in the study of Scripture and proclamation of the Gospel, the workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 in Sieck Hall 202 on campus, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105. The registration deadline is July 22. Cost is $20 per person or $35 with lunch.
The Lay Bible Institute, offered three times a year by SA国际传媒 faculty members, is an ongoing study of the Bible and how it relates to today鈥檚 life and events.
