Today, on behalf of the entire SA国际传媒, St. Louis campus community, President Dr. Thomas J. Egger [1] and Chairman of the Board of Regents [2] Rev. W. Max Mons offered the following statement on the death yesterday of Board of Regents鈥� member Dr. John C. Wille:
鈥淭he administration and members of the Board of Regents are deeply saddened at the death of our friend and colleague, Dr. John C. Wille, president of the LCMS South Wisconsin District.
鈥淪ince 2015, John has served on our Board of Regents as the LCMS Council of Presidents鈥� representative. In this role, he served as a member of several committees, including Governance and Audit.
鈥淛ohn was a dear brother in Christ, who loved his Lord, the Lord鈥檚 church and SA国际传媒. He was a faithful proclaimer of Jesus Christ crucified and risen for our salvation. He worked tirelessly to bring glory to God and the gifts of God to people.
鈥淲e miss our brother John. We give thanks to God for him and for the sure and certain hope of the resurrection. We do not grieve as the world does, 鈥楩or since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep鈥� (1 Thess. 4:14).鈥�
The funeral service for Wille will be held at 11 a.m. June 18 in the Chapel of Christ Triumphant on the campus of Concordia University, [3] Brothers in the ministry in attendance are welcome to vest (in red) and be prepared to process in.
A private family interment will take place in Watertown, Wis., following the service.
