While the fulfillment of prophecy is regularly cited in the New Testament\, that is not the only dynamic. At times\, the language of Old Testament texts is significantly transformed in New Testament texts. Then there are allusions and echoes of Old Testament texts within the New Testament that stop short of direction quotation yet build on the prior text. We will explore the various dynamics of the New Testament’s use of the Old Testament\, consider the Christological significance of those dynamics\, and reflect on how our interpretive practice can reflect those dynamics. \n\n\n\n\nDr. Kevin Golden\nDirector of Resident Field Education\, Associate Professor of Exegetical Theology\, and Dean of Theological Research and Publication\nDr. Kevin Golden is known as a caring\, dedicated parish pastor who has distinguished himself as a preacher and teacher.
