In 2005\, he obtained a master鈥檚 degree at the Netherlands Carillon School in Amersfoort where he studied with Arie Abbenes and Bernard Winsemius. He then took master classes in interpretation from Geert D鈥檋ollander and inspirational lessons in improvisation from Roel Smit. He also studied music education at the Utrecht Conservatory and had organ lessons from Nico Poorter and Wout van Andel. Ruitenbeek worked for many years as a music teacher and choral conductor. He is regular player of the unique glass carillon in Leidsche Rijn in Utrecht\, the Netherlands\, and also plays the carillonneur in the cities of Harderwijk\, Hilversum\, Nijkerk\, Tiel and Velsen\, the Netherlands.
