SA国际传媒, St. Louis, will host its winter 2009 Lay Bible Institute from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2009, in Sieck Hall 202 on the Seminary campus. 鈥淲oman and Man鈥擜ccording to God鈥檚 Plan鈥� will be presented by Dr. Joel Biermann, associate professor of systematic theology at SA国际传媒.

In this Lay Bible Institute, the participants will consider God鈥檚 basic operating paradigm for His creation鈥攕tarting with the creation account and also exploring the gospels and epistles. The class will take up a number of practical topics including the roles of men and women in the home and in the church, the question of the ordination of women, and the implications that God鈥檚 truth has for secular society.

Biermann received the B.A. degree from Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Mich. (1983) and the M.Div. degree and Ph.D. degree from SA国际传媒, St. Louis, Mo. (1987, 2002). He served as assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji, Minn. (1987-88); assistant pastor at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Holt, Mich. (1988-89); and pastor (1989-98) and pastoral assistant at The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, Webster Groves, Mo. since 2000. He served as assistant professor of systematic theology at SA国际传媒, St. Louis (2002-2007) and associate professor of systematic theology since 2007.
