19th Annual Adult Choir Member Workshop Attracts Many Participants

On Jan. 22 a total of 71 participants, representing 13 churches throughout the United States (3 of which were non-Lutheran), attended the 19th Annual Schola Cantorum: An Adult Choir Member Workshop, held on the campus of SA国际传媒, St. Louis. Dr. Timothy Peter, head of the music department and professor of music at Luther College, served as this year鈥檚 clinician and trained, taught, and encouraged the聽singers as they learned several different compositions. The Schola Cantorum was open to all choir members, choir directors, and ministers of music. The schedule for the day included rehearsal sessions along with Morning and Closing Prayer services, at which the participants performed some of the music learned that day.

Participants commented, 鈥淚 so look forward to this event every year. Dr. Peter was excellent, as have all the leaders I鈥檝e experienced the past few years.鈥 鈥淧raise God. This was a wonderful experience!鈥

The Choral Reading Session was held in conjunction with the Schola Cantorum on Jan. 21 in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the SA国际传媒 campus. In this evening of choral and instrumental song, Dr. Peter previewed new and current titles of music with participants.
