Life Team Sponsors Elderly Ministry Workshop
The SA国际传媒 Life Team will host a seminar entitled 鈥淗onor, Serve, and Cherish Them: Ministry With and To the Elderly鈥� on Saturday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the SA国际传媒 campus in Sieck Hall. There is no cost and light refreshments will be provided.
The goal of the seminar is to equip lay leaders and pastors to minister to and with the elderly. Four experts in this field will conduct sessions on: 鈥淪cripture Reflection: Thinking about the Aged the Way God Does;鈥� 鈥淭he Realities of Aging in America;鈥� 鈥淢odels for Ministering To and With the Elderly;鈥� and 鈥淧ractical Nuts and Bolts.鈥� Presenters will include Dr. Jeffrey Oschwald, associate professor of New Testament at SA国际传媒; Rev. Jeffrey Scheer, administrator of Clinical Pastoral Education at Lutheran Senior Services; Rev. Jake Bennett, Chaplain at Friendship Village Retirement Center, Chesterfield, MO; and Rev. Vern Gundermann, veteran parish pastor and administrator of pastoral care for Lutheran Senior Services.
