鈥淪A国际传媒, St. Louis confirms today that Seminary President Dr. Dale A. Meyer, our beloved leader and a humble servant of the Lord, has been nominated for president of The Lutheran Church鈥擬issouri Synod (LCMS).

鈥淎s a testament to Dr. Meyer鈥檚 effective leadership of the Seminary, his term of service as Seminary president was extended another five years by a Board of Regents vote last summer. We were thrilled when he said that 鈥榝or the rest of his formal ministry and until he sees his Savior face-to-face, he had no stronger desire than to serve God through His mission at the Seminary.鈥

鈥淗owever, it鈥檚 not about individual will. First and foremost, Dr. Meyer will obey God, including serving faithfully wherever his Lord places him. In announcing this to the Seminary faculty, he emphasized that he was not running for president, but rather, allowing his name to stand.

鈥淧lease join with us in keeping Dr. Meyer and his family in your prayers as the election proceedings progress through the spring and conclude with the vote preceding the LCMS convention this summer.

鈥溾業 can do nothing on my own as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me鈥 (John 5:30 ESV).鈥
