The ACP, the nation鈥檚 oldest interdenominational religious press association, presented its awards May 12, 2022, as part of the virtual Religious Communicator鈥檚 Conference.
In the ACP鈥檚 鈥淥verall Excellence/Best in Class鈥 division, the Seminary received a second place Award of聽Merit聽in the category 鈥淏est In Class Seminary Publication or Journal鈥 for聽SA国际传媒 magazine [3]. Named in the award are Vicki Biggs, executive editor; Melanie Ave, managing editor; Jayna聽Rollings, XiaoPei Chen and Beth Hasek, art directors; and Courtney Koll, designer.
In the ACP鈥檚 鈥淩eporting and Writing鈥 division, the Seminary received the following awards:
- A first place Honorable Mention in the category of 鈥淏ooks 鈥 Nonfiction,鈥 for The Beautiful Sermon: Image and the Aesthetics of Preaching [4]. Named in the award are Dr. Dean Nadasdy, author; Dr. David Schmitt [5], editor.
- A second place Honorable Mention in the category for 鈥淧ersonal Experience: Long Format,鈥 forSA国际传媒聽magazine, 鈥淏ringing light and life into a dark world.鈥 Named in the award are Dr. Philip Werth Penhallegon [6], writer; Melanie Ave, Vicki Biggs, editors.
The Seminary received the following awards for the ACP鈥檚 鈥淰isual Communications鈥 section:
- A first place Award of Excellence in the category of 鈥淚ntegrated Communications,鈥 for 鈥淭heological Symposium: Whatever is Lovely鈥 symposium branding. Named in the award are Vicki Biggs, CCO;Courtney Koll, creative; Chris Miller, web; Sarah Maney, Melanie Ave, communications.
- A second place Award of Merit in the category of 鈥淚ntegrated Communications,鈥 for 鈥淵our Word Is a Lamp to My Feet鈥 2021-22 academic year branding. Named in the award are Vicki Biggs, CCO; Julia Staggenborg, Jayna Rollings, creative; Chris Miller, web/video; Melanie Ave, Rebekah Lukas, communications.
- A second place Award of Merit in the category for 鈥淢agazine/Journal Design, Spread or Story,鈥 for SA国际传媒 magazine, 鈥淢eet SA国际传媒鈥檚 11th President: Dr. Thomas J. Egger.鈥 Named in the award are Courtney Koll, designer; Jayna Rollings, art director.
- A second place Award of Merit in the category for 鈥淧hoto Spread or Essay (Printed Media),鈥 forSA国际传媒 magazine, 鈥淔irst look.鈥 Named in the award are Courtney Koll, designer; Jayna Rollings, art director.
The ACP awarded the Seminary the following awards in the area of Social Media:
- A first place Award of Excellence in the category of 鈥淓vent Promotion/Marketing Campaign/Brand Awareness,鈥 for 鈥淕ive Green and Gold.鈥 Named in the award are Vicki Biggs, CCO; Julia Staggenborg, Beth Hasek, creative; Chris Miller, web, Sarah Maney, Melanie Ave, communications; John Clifton, video.

In addition to the ACP awards, the Seminary was recognized by the EPA, a professional organization of Christian publications including magazines, newspapers, newsletters and content-rich websites. Its awards were announced during the annual EPA convention held April 10-12.
In the EPA鈥檚 鈥淎ward of Excellence鈥 contest for publications, the Seminary received a second place Award of Merit in the category 鈥淗igher Ed (Digital)鈥 for聽SA国际传媒听尘补驳补锄颈苍别 [3]. Named in the award are Chris Miller, Jayna Rollings, Beth Hasek, Melanie Ave and Vicki Biggs.
In the EPA鈥檚 鈥淗igher Goals鈥 contest for work accomplished in specific categories, the Seminary received the following:
- A third-place award in the category of 鈥淏log: Website鈥 for SA国际传媒 magazine, [7]. Named in the award are Chris Miller, Dr. Erik Herrmann [8], Jayna Rollings, Beth Hasek and Vicki Biggs.
- A fourth-place award in the category of 鈥淏log: Single Post鈥 for SA国际传媒 magazine, 鈥淟etter to self… 40 years later.鈥 Named in the award is Dr. Timothy Saleska [9].
