Fall Lay Bible Institute set for Oct. 7
鈥楾he Acts of the Apostles: The Early Disciples and How They Changed the World鈥 open for registration
Examine how the missionary experiences of the early disciples caused the church to grow at SA国际传媒, St. Louis鈥 fall Lay Bible Institute, 鈥淭he Acts of the Apostles: The Early Disciples and How They Changed the World,鈥 led by Professor Emeritus of Practical Theology Dr. Douglas L. Rutt.
Before His ascension, Jesus made a solemn promise to His disciples that He would be with them always, to the very end of the age. He remains true to that promise, a promise that continues even to this very day. Yet He used weak and sinful human beings to bring the Christian church to life. Acts is a book about mission, and as someone once said, 鈥淢ission is the mother of theology.鈥 In this workshop, participants will examine how the missionary experiences of the early disciples caused the church to grow not only geographically, but also theologically, and how those experiences relate to the world today 鈥 a world that is in various ways similar to the world of the Acts.
Open to anyone interested in the study of Scripture and proclamation of the Gospel, the workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, in Sieck Hall 202 on campus, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105. The deadline is Sept. 22. The fee is $20 per person, or $35 per person with lunch.
The Lay Bible Institute, offered three times a year and led by SA国际传媒 faculty members, is an ongoing study of the Bible and how it relates to today鈥檚 life and events.
