Laudamus choir spring 2024 concert tour set

Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri performances planned

Laudamus, the premier choir of seminarians from SA国际传媒, St. Louis, will perform at seven churches and schools in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri during the spring 2024 concert tour March 18-26.

鈥淚t is a joy to make music with these young men each week,鈥 said Cantor Phillip Magness, interim associate director of music arts. 鈥淭hey understand how the purpose of our music is to care for souls.鈥

The tour theme, 鈥淣ot Unto Us,鈥 is taken from Ps. 115:1 where the psalmist prays, 鈥淣ot to us, O Lord, not unto us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!鈥 In lieu of a concert, the tour will offer a series of Lenten Evening Prayer services, featuring a setting of Psalm 115 by Donald Busarow and a setting of the Kurt J. Eggert hymn 鈥淣ot unto Us鈥 from the Lutheran Service Book (LSB 558). The performances will include various other pieces, ranging from a Renaissance motet to a new piece by Magness.
