Rev. William W. Carr

Professor Emeritus of Exegetical Theology

Rev. William W. Carr Jr. is a professor emeritus of Exegetical Theology at SA国际传媒, St. Louis.

He retired in 2015 after 14 years of distinguished service as assistant professor of Exegetical Theology. He also served as academic adviser and registrar (2001-04); director of academic programming (2004-10); and as chairman of the admissions committee.

He received his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) from SA国际传媒 (1983, 1997), and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Florida Technological University (now University of Central Florida) in 1972. He served as pastor at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Hopewell, Va. (1983-94).

He served in the U.S. Navy (1973-79), including on the USS LaMoure County (LST-1194) as damage control assistant and main propulsion assistant (1973-76); staff civil engineer, Naval Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor (1976-78); and assistant resident officer in charge of construction, Pearl Harbor (1978-79). He was released from active duty in 1979.

He published the article 鈥淐harity under the Covenant as Reminder of Redemption鈥 and 鈥淲ill Just Any God Do?鈥 (Concordia Journal) and was a regular contributor to 鈥淗omiletical Helps鈥 and 鈥淟ectionary at Lunch鈥 online.

He is married to Nedra and has two grandsons. His son is deceased.
