Jerusalem in the Time of Jesus
A newly endowed annual lecture on biblical archeology and historical geography will debut this fall at the Seminary. The lecture will be presented by Dr. Jodi Magness, the Kenan Distinguished Professor for Teaching Excellence in Early Judaism in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her presentation, 鈥淛erusalem in the Time of Jesus,鈥� Magness will survey the history and archaeology of Jerusalem in the Late Second Temple period ending with the city鈥檚 destruction by the Romans in A.D. 70. The lecture will focus especially on Herod鈥檚 reconstruction of the Second Temple and sites related to Jesus鈥� final hours on earth. The lecture is free and open to the public.
